Jeffrey Chatman plans to take a journey this summer – a "Journey of Hope."

Chatman's Journey of Hope is a 67-day, 4,100-mile bicycle trek from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. Each day, participants ride about 80 miles and then spend the remainder of the day putting on skits, talking to organizations, and playing with children with disabilities.

One hundred trees are taking root in Richard Greene Linear Park thanks to a recent volunteer effort. Fifty volunteers donated their time and energy to Arlington’s Parks and Recreation Department in celebration of Earth Day 2012.   The volunteers planted  the trees in the shadow of Rangers Ballpark in late April.
