Despite setbacks, CATS prepares for the fall

Heather Simmons, the Executive Director of the Creative Arts Theatre School (CATS), is looking for a new home after lease negotiations at their current location have fallen through.

According to reports, when the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock move to the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington Metroplex in 2016, the team will play in UT Arlington’s College Park Center. The move is pending approval from the University of Texas Board of Regents, which is expected to endorse the transaction.

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking in the roadway of U.S. Highway 287.

The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday around 4 a.m. Police say a vehicle traveling northbound in the 5800 block of U.S. 287 struck the unidentified pedestrian. The driver stopped to render aid and called 911. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
