Around town this weekend
Fiddler on the Roof ‘s limited run at UTA’s Mainstage Theatre continues Friday and Saturday night with a matinee on Sunday.
This warm and honest story tells the tale of Tevye, a poor milkman, who seeks to preserve family tradition by engaging a matchmaker to find husbands for his daughters. However, the girls want to break with tradition and choose their own mates. Tevye’s struggles play out against the backdrop of 1905 czarist Russia.
Fiddler on the Roof is beloved for it’s rich musical score: “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Tradition,” “Matchmaker Matchmaker,” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”
