Around town this weekend
The 3rd annual Great Big Texas Home Show returns to the Cowboys Stadium this weekend, March 8-10.
Billed as “the largest home and garden show in North Texas,” this oversized home and garden show combines the hottest stars from HGTV with “do-it-yourself” ideas to the newest designs and products. This show has something for everyone.
Lounge in the Ultimate Fan Cave furnished by Ethan Allen and designed by HGTV’s Design Star All Star’s winner (and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader) Leslie Ezelle and spend a few hours living as the stars of the gridiron do.
Sample treats prepared by local celebrity chefs, including Cowboys Stadium’s Chefs Gabe Valdez and Matt Nobile. Learn their secrets, and take home a few new recipes.
For the young -- and young at heart -- wander through the 20,000 square foot “Fairy Tale Garden” where local landscaping professionals showcase their skill by creating the Three Little Pigs and their friends.
Friday is Kid’s Day and features two interactive play areas, LEGOLAND and Discovery Center. Lowe’s will host a “Build and Grow”, awarding a certificate and patch to participants. Be sure to sample kid-friendly recipes, including a “no-bake play-dough.”
