Move clocks forward one hour this weekend

Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 10 at 2 a.m. Nothing says “It’s Spring” like turning the clock forward one hour.

The Arlington Fire Department advises changing the batteries in all smoke detectors twice each year. Making it a tradition to change batteries as the clocks change, makes it easy to remember to perform this vital task.

Also check flashlight batteries as Spring storms often result in power outages.

Free smoke detectors, installation and replacement batteries are available for elderly and low income residents who live in the City of Arlington. Call the Arlington Fire Department at 817-459-5500 for details on this program.
