Suspect arrested in slaying of shoe store manager

Jason Galen Everett - Arlington, TX - Red Wing Shoe Store Shooting

A suspect was arrested Tuesday night in connection with the shooting death of a manager at a Red Wing Shoe Store in Arlington.

Police arrested Jacob Galen Everett, 21, on evidence that he was at the store that day and driving the same type of Toyota Tacoma for which police had been searching.

After interviewing Everett and finding evidence in his home that he had been at the store that day, he was arrested and booked with a capital murder charge.

Randy Pacheco, 23, was shot dead in the backroom of the shoe store located in the 3100 block of South Cooper Street on Feb. 25.

At the time, police indicated robbery might have been the motive. There was no indication that motive had changed with the arrest of Everett.
